The Quest for Absolute Zero: What's in it for us?

Hyoungsoon Choi (KAIST)

People have been relentlessly pushing the limits of various physical parameters, making things bigger, stronger, taller, faster, and etc. Temperature (or energy) is also one of these parameters and reaching lower and lower temperatures has been quite successful at revealing exciting new physics to study throughout its progression. Achieving low temperatures is especially useful in observing quantum mechanical phenomena. From this perspective, we will discuss discovery of supersolid and some of its quite unique and intriguing properties.
